YOUR NEED

Custom instrumentation

The load pin is the first part we instrumented. It is not the only one we can handle.

What we do

What we do

Make the load carried by a mechanical part readable, without changing what it does, its dimensions, or the place it occupies in the assembly.

The part stays the part. It gains an additional function: indicating the load it sees.

This is a matter of instrumentation and calibration, two distinct trades from mechanical design. The second is what decides the quality of the result: an instrumented part without serious calibration gives a number, not a measurement.

Eligibility

The type of enquiry that fits

We work with professionals, on parts that already exist and whose use is known.

A workable enquiry brings together three elements:

01 — A part
Identified, that you already manufacture, fit or use, with its drawing or a sample.
02 — A use
Precise, meaning what you will do with the measured value and who will read it.
03 — A volume
Envisaged, even approximate, even small.

The third point is not a disguised commercial question. Instrumenting a single part and instrumenting a series part are two different problems, and the technical answer is not the same.

Process

How it works

Step 01

A call

You describe the part and what you are trying to know. We say whether it is something for us. This exchange is free and without commitment, and is often enough to decide.

Step 02

A study

If the subject holds, we set out what is measurable, how, with what limits, and what this implies on your side.

Step 03

A development

Realisation, calibration, testing, delivery of a first series.

Ownership

What belongs to you

Your part stays yours. What we study from it — its drawings, its characteristics, your use — is not used elsewhere.

On our side, our instrumentation and calibration methods remain ours and continue to serve our other work. They are what makes the next part cost less to handle than the previous one.

This split is written into the contract before the work begins, never after.

Positioning

Why us rather than a sensor supplier

An off-the-shelf sensor imposes its own shape and asks you to make room around it. That's workable on a machine, much less so on a boat, where space, load transfer and accessibility are all constrained.

We take the problem from the other direction: we start from the part you have and fit the measurement inside it.

Talk about it

Describe the part and what you are trying to know. A call is enough to know if it is something for us.
